UK Border Force (UKBF) requirements for all UK destination shipments

Please note that with effect from the 31 Jan 2025 UK Border Force forbid the use of unacceptable generic goods descriptions, this relates to UK destination and transiting shipments.

We communicated last year in relation to the same subject but under the title of ‘vague descriptions’ relating to shipments with a US destination. UKBF and Virgin Atlantic Cargo will be monitoring inbound shipments, and we will be in contact if generic goods descriptions are being used.

Our in-house systems have been configured to inhibit shipments if the goods descriptions are classed as unacceptably generic.
