Following the suspension of cargo services to Montego Bay (MBJ) as a result of Hurricane Melissa, we’re pleased to confirm that, effective Thursday 11th December, we are once again able to accept all cargo types into MBJ.

Please note that, due to limited storage capacity at the destination, consignees must collect their shipments within 72 hours of arrival.

We’re aware of a technical issue impacting passenger check-in systems at a number of airports including London Heathrow (LHR) which may result in some delays to departures. The issue is affecting airlines globally and Virgin Atlantic are working closely with Heathrow Airport and our partners to minimise disruption.

All Virgin Atlantic flights are scheduled to operate as planned, although some flights may experience delays. We will continue to monitor the situation closely.

Cargo operations remain unaffected, and our teams are fully engaged in supporting colleagues and maintaining smooth operations. Please check Track & Trace for latest status update on your shipments.

Heathrow Airport is temporarily closed due to a fire at an electrical substation nearby, which is causing significant disruption to all flights today. As a result, multiple cancellations are expected. To keep up to date with the latest news click here.

Please note our close out time for Courier at CFL, London Heathrow, will be extended to -120 minutes (2 hours) to STD, effective from Monday 10th February.

Due to adverse weather conditions expected to be caused by Hurricane Milton, a state of emergency has been declared in Florida. Unfortunately, this has impacted our flying schedule, and services to and from Orlando and Tampa are subject to cancellations and delays.

The TSA has issued new security requirements for cargo shipments on passenger carriers travelling to or through the United States and originating in one of the countries designated by the TSA. 

To comply with this requirement, effective 25 September 2024, forwarding partners must confirm they have verified all shipments are from shippers that meet the new Established Business Relationship criteria

As of 29th February 2024, the UAE National Advance Information Center (NAIC) requires 6-digit HS codes on MAWB and HAWB level for all goods being imported into, exported from, or transiting through the United Arab Emirates. For more information please click here.

We’re adding three new destinations to our network this Winter

 
From October, we’ll be launching 2 brand new routes and welcoming back our winter seasonal service to Cape Town with our new ground-handling partner, Menzies Aviation. 
 
Malé commences with three weekly services from 22nd October, followed by daily flights to Cape Town from 29th October and four weekly services to Dubai from 30th October.

The Delhi government has issued a notification for public holiday on the 8^th, 9^th  and 10^th September  in view of the G-20 Summit scheduled to be held in the national capital. Please allow for additional clearance time over these dates for shipments to DEL.

We are currently monitoring Tropical Storm Nicole, which is currently tracking towards the Bahamas and expected to be upgraded to a Hurricane by the time it makes landfall in Florida Wednesday evening.

Flights to and from Montego Bay, Miami and Tampa are planned to operate as scheduled.

Based on the currently forecast winds, we are still planning to operate Wednesday’s VS107 via NAS. If the forecast gets worse, the OCC will review the situation and may decide not to stop in NAS.

We recommend that you regularly check our website for updates as we continue to evaluate the weather.

Following the close monitoring of forecasted weather and discussions with airport authorities, Orlando Airport have confirmed that they will close the airport on Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th November, which unfortunately means the following flights will be cancelled:

• VS75 Manchester – Orlando
• VS91 London Heathrow – Orlando
• VS76 Orlando – Manchester
• VS92 Orlando – London Heathrow

Thursday 10th November

• VS75 Manchester – Orlando
• VS91 London Heathrow – Orlando

• VS92 Orlando – London Heathrow

What if I have a shipment booked on an affected flight?

To limit impact to our customers, we have re-routed onforwarding shipments via alternative gateways. Shipments originating or terminating in Orlando have been rolled to the next scheduled flights on 11th November.

Alliance Ground International (AGI), our ground handling partners in Orlando, are not operating on Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th September due to the impact of Hurricane Ian.

As a result, we will unfortunately not be flying cargo to and from Orlando on these days.

Any customers who have been impacted by these cancellations will be contacted directly, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We’d like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding.
